About the Carpet Sahib’s Mini Trail

INSPIRED BY CORBETT’S SHORT STORY

This trip is inspired by one of the story of ‘The Mohan Man-eater’, which was the fifth adventure featured in Corbett’s first and most well-known collection titled The Man-eaters of Kumaon.

Our base camp is on the fringes of the Jim Corbett National Park, surrounded by the jungle and village folk that still uncannily match Corbett’s description.

Our trail takes us to the locations described in the story and we track the exact locations described in the story, much like Corbett tracked tigers and other wild animals. We also interact with locals, experience their hospitality and culture, gorge on local dishes, take in sights and sounds and observe the flora and fauna.

Another highlight of the trail is a visit to Corbett’s home in Choti Haldwani - now a museum, followed by a splendid nature hike around the area.

A stunning view of the landscapes explored on the Jim Corbett Nostalgia Trail, featuring dense forests and rolling hills, capturing the essence of this 7-day journey through history, wildlife, and adventure.

Vinay Karnad

We (a group of 40-somethings) camped at Sattal, Shaama (Saama), Ram Ganga, and Mukteshwar. The camps were well-managed, and all our programs were well-organized. Scenic locations, clean and cozy accommodations, and a helpful, courteous staff—who were always prompt and responsible—made for a wonderful experience. A special shoutout to the teams at Sattal and Shaama, who put their heart into everything they do. The food at every camp was absolutely finger-licking delicious! We had a memorable time. Although we faced some issues at Ram Ganga, the management promptly stepped in with a solution that satisfied everyone.

Sukrit Nagraj

A very professional guide with amazing knowledge, who provided us with incredible information and insights and ensured we were well looked after. The driver was fantastic and always punctual. I couldn’t have asked for better service or a more enriching cultural experience!
